Fun Facts: Mount Dora, Florida was incorporated in 1910 and is in Lake County. It was named after Dora Ann Drawdy, who lived 2 miles south of Mount Dora with her husband. It had an estimated population of 11,564 in 2006. A popular hotel built in 1883 in the area had prominent visitors such as President Calvin Coolidge, Thomas Edison, Henry Ford and President Dwight D. Eisenhower. The movie Honky Tonk Freeway was filmed in Mount Dora in 1981.
