❓Ellen Help! I hosted a dinner party which ended in an epic conga line winding its way through the living room. Needless to say cabernet and merlot spots are all over my carpet; How in the world can I get the stains out?
✔️ First of all congratulations on your epic night with friends!
I have a few things for you to try but they work best on new stains that haven’t set in yet.
1) Get some white wine (yes white wine but preferably not sweet as you don’t want residue left over) and pour a small amount over the stain. This will help dilute the stain for you to then gently blot the affected area-being careful not to press the stain into the carpet.
2) If the stain still remains, you will want to try blotting with white vinegar.
3) If no luck with either of those, you may want to try blotting with hydrogen peroxide but be careful as hydrogen peroxide is a mild bleaching agent. It is best to test in a small inconspicuous area first to make sure you don’t bleach your carpet.
The good news is that you made lasting memories with friends, and next time, maybe try the electric slide instead… (Less upper body movement) ? dance on! ??
